FAQs
about Upgrading...
IMPORTANT
PLEASE NOTE: There is no "14 day money
back guarantee" option with O2 handset
upgrades.
- Who can upgrade?
- Any
O2 customer may upgrade to a new phone,
providing of course that your current
account is up to date. The length
of time as a subscriber to the current
agreement and your previous payment
history to date will be taken into
consideration.
- If you have
only had your account for a few months
it is going to be very expensive to
upgrade, quite rightly, O2 subsidised
your current phone cost by means of
a commission payable to the connecting
dealer and in return for this you
promised and agreed to paying 12 months
line rental. This loss of line rental
payments has got to be saved and this
is achieved by charging a higher upgrade
fee on your subsequent O2 bill following
the upgrade.
- Should
you have ever missed a payment to
O2, or defaulted in any way, you may
be refused an upgrade or asked for
a deposit (to be held by O2) for the
first 12 months of the new contract
life.
- How do I go about my upgrade?
- To upgrade
your current phone, here at the gomarketcity
we do our best to make the procedure
as painless as possible for you. You
are required to enter into a new agreement
with O2 for a further 12 months which
will start from the time of upgrade.
We offer Secure Online Ordering for
your upgrade.
- Once
you have decided which phone you
wish
to upgrade to, click
here to
complete our upgrade enquiry form.
Then a member of our specialist upgrade
team will contact you to ensure that
you are choosing the right option for
you and will take further details in
order to complete the transaction.
- Your
new Pay Monthly contract will be set
on your current sim card, Simply remove
your Sim from your current handset and
place in your new handset when it arrives.
If your current Sim card is in a unusable
state contact O2 and they will forward
you a brand new Sim Card, all you will
need to do is call the O2 upgrade department
and they will map your old phone number
to the new Sim card. Full details of
how to complete this task are sent out
with the Sim card direct to your current
address.
What happens to my old
phone?

phone! You get to keep it.
How long will it take
to upgrade?

procedure is relatively simple, here at the
gomarketcity we will do everything possible
to make is even smoother for you. When your
new handset arrives - you simply remove your
sim card from your old handset and insert
it into your new one! Easy! If your old sim
card will not be compatible with your new

Why don't I just cancel
and begin with a new airtime agreement?
Bearing in mind
the above you may say "why don't I just
cancel and start again with a new contract?"
This of course you can do providing you have
completed the minimum term on your current
airtime agreement and almost certainly it
will be cheaper than upgrading your current
phone with the O2 upgrade scheme currently
in place, please bear in mind the following
when considering beginning a new airtime agreement
against an upgrade.
You will lose your current phone number which
would be a major disadvantage if you use your
phone for business or indeed have a large
number of people who regularly contact you
on it.
If you have any further
questions about your O2 upgrade please call
us direct, we will do our best to explain
and assist as much as possible. |
